Undivided heart
"God calls within the Church from the beginning to virginity, because it is an eschatological sign of the future, in which we will all be transformed, resurrected from death, and there will be neither husband nor wife, we will be like God, divinised, truly light."
Carmen Hernández
Women, the hope of the Church!
God calls us to a spiritual marriage, just as a woman in a monastery is also a sign. It is fantastic that there are so many cloistered monasteries, brides of Christ! Women full of love for Christ.
Loving Christ is the only truth, everything else is vanity.
And I know that when God calls a young woman, He already has everything written in heaven. Perhaps after two, three, or four years, she will face struggles and sufferings, but God already has a plan for her: that she will be itinerant, or that she will be a nun in a missionary congregation in Africa, or that she will work in a hospital, united to Jesus Christ, caring for patients with AIDS – something like that. God has a plan; the important thing is to be with Jesus Christ.
With Jesus Christ, everything is possible, as Saint Paul says.
Preface by Kiko Argüello
The author has chosen beautiful quotes from Carmen that reflect her spiritual intelligence, masterfully relating the Old and New Testaments on so many occasions, some of which are truly brilliant, as when she connected Jacob’s love for Rachel with the resurrection of Christ.
She presented us with an extensive list of the women in the Bible, accompanied by magnificent catecheses in which Carmen recounted how women have been instruments of God through marvelous interventions in the history of Israel, as well as the stories of the women who encountered Jesus Christ, the first heralds of the Gospel.
Many of these pages are dedicated to women. The courage with which she preached has helped so many young people – especially girls – who, thanks to her, have come to recognize the value of being a woman.
